BioHello and welcome. I'm Douglas Cohen. For the past 4 years I've been the Assistant Editor at Realms of Fantasy Magazine. In March of 2009, Tir Na Nog Press became RoF's new publisher, and I accepted the additional responsibilities of Nonfiction Editor and Art Director. I'm also a blogger for Tor.com. If that's not enough, my fiction has appeared in Interzone Magazine.
Note to Artists: Please do not post links to your websites here so I'll look at your portfolios. I discuss RoF a lot here, but I'm not comfortable conducting its business here. If you insist on posting such a link anyway, please consider yourself warned I will not follow the link or respond to your post. I have very few rules on my LJ, but I'm pretty firm on this. Anyway ...
My chief responsibility as Assistant Editor with RoF is finding publishable manuscripts among the submissions we are regularly inundated with. Those authors whose stories go on to become published are called "slush survivors." Here are the slush survivors I've found so far, along with related info (because I should list them somewhere and I don't have a website):
1. Karen Abrahamson--"Lady of Ashuelot"--Arthuriana--April 2006--Karen's tale was the very first piece of slush I plucked from the piles. Yay, Karen! You make me look so talented. :)
