Dreamwidth

  • May. 25th, 2009 at 9:44 PM

Ellen Datlow has an interesting post about Dreamwidth.  This sounds like the place I'll migrate to if anyone ever pulls the plug on LJ or it goes to hell. And since you can cross-post from there to LJ, it makes sense to set this up now.  Ellen's post indicates you can only join for free if someone emails you an invite.  Anyone have an invite they'd care to shoot my way? :)  You can email me at slushmaster@gmail.com

Just to update the previous item, I figured out how to employ the Facebook badge and I've added that to the profile page of my livejournal.  It's now very easy to find me on Facebook!

I'm on Facebook

  • May. 16th, 2009 at 10:09 PM

I just joined.  As with Livejournal, it was a spur of the moment decision.  I haven't put up a picture yet, but I will soon.  Not really sure what the hell I'm doing yet, but I'll figure it out as I go along.  I'm on as Douglas Cohen.  My network is in Nassau County, NY if you'd like to hunt me down through Facebook Search.  I'm not abandoning LJ by any means.  I intend to remain active here, especially since I'm good at long rambling posts and Facebook isn't really the place for that.  Just spreading my e-wings a little.  See some of you there!

Google Knows Me

I was surprised to note that if you type "Realms of Fantasy" into the Google search engine, one of the search choices it presents you with is "Realms of Fantasy Doug Cohen."  I was even more surprised to that it doesn't provide you the option of "Realms of Fantasy Shawna McCarthy."  Granted, I suppose I have more of a web presence than Shawna, but she's the editor and has been with the magazine since the beginning.
