V For Vendetta

So I just got back from watching the movie. I had read the graphic novel about two months ago in anticipation of the cinematic version. If I hadn't read the graphic novel first, I probably would have enjoyed the movie more. But they left out my favorite part (the destruction of the dolls in the oven was a stroke of genius) and they totally revamped the ending. I understand why Allan Moore was upset. Also, what's with adding the whole love interest angle? Just because it's Hollywood the Wachowski Brothers felt this was called for? Please. It gave V and Evie's relationship a Phantom of the Opera vibe, which was never what Moore was going for. Some entertaining scenes, though, and I've definitely seen worse. But not quite what I was hoping for.

On the plus side, the previews offered two summer flicks I want to see, these being A SCANNER DARKLY and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST.
